Safer Surgeries Medical Devices is an Atlanta based medical design company. Our primary device is a system that retrofits electrocautery pens to prevent accidental actuation of the Cautery pen and subsequent patient burns, injuries and even operating room fires. 

Ultimately our goal is to make this pen become the new standard of care for Cautery pens and to stop this hazard which happens daily during surgical usage. 

We are gathering data and ask that patients with unexplained burns and even surgeons anonymously report events. Our device is both a safer instrument yet is enhancing in that it offers better control and availability of the pen. We are finishing the development phase and getting governmental involvement to assure public awareness and to demand that this become a priority for a safer operating room environment for all patients.
